LandCruiser 79 Series Build for Sale: A Fully Certified Outback Adventure Machine (2026)

Are you ready to embark on the ultimate off-road adventure? This is your chance to own a legendary 79 Series LandCruiser, a rugged beast that has conquered the Australian outback. But here's the catch: it's going under the hammer!

The 2025 79 Series build is a masterpiece, meticulously crafted to tackle the toughest terrains. Imagine owning a custom Cruiser, one of the last V8-diesel 79 Series to grace Australian shores. We transformed this GXL dual-cab into an authentic outback tourer, not just a showroom showpiece. From suspension upgrades to essential touring gear, we left no stone unturned.

The journey began with a suspension and GVM upgrade at Terrain Tamer. We raised the GVM to 3950kg, adding 440kg of payload capacity. The Terrain Tamer kit replaced the factory suspension with their 'Smart' coil springs, parabolic leaf springs, and upgraded components, ensuring a smoother ride and increased load-handling capability.

Protection and recovery were paramount, so we teamed up with Ironman 4x4. The front end received a new Apex bull bar, steel side steps, sliders, and a powerful winch. The Ironman Scope LED driving lights illuminated the path ahead, while the bull bar's design ensured optimal visibility and protection.

Addressing the rear track correction, we turned to Multidrive Technology. Their solution widened the rear track, enhancing stability and handling. The 3950kg option featured a remanufactured axle housing with billet sections, providing extra strength and compatibility with the increased payload.

The NSV Smart Air Compressor was a game-changer, offering automatic tyre inflation and deflation. Its smart control panel allowed for easy pressure adjustments, ensuring optimal performance on various terrains.

Loaded Gibb 1675 alloy wheels were chosen for their strength and load-bearing capacity. These wheels, named after the iconic Gibb River Road, provided the necessary support for our upgraded GVM.

The Marks 4WD High Clearance tow bar solved the issue of the standard bar hanging too low. This custom bar raised the hitch receiver, increasing ground clearance by 95mm and adding recovery points for off-road convenience.

Maxxis RAZR MT772 mud-terrain tyres provided the perfect balance of traction and durability. Their deep tread and robust rubber compound ensured excellent grip and resistance to punctures, making them ideal for off-road adventures.

The Scavenger Advanced Air Filtration snorkel was a standout feature. Unlike traditional raised intakes, this snorkel actively reduced airborne contaminants before they reached the air filter, resulting in cleaner air for the engine and improved performance.

Bushman DC85-X and DF30-HD fridges kept our food and drinks chilled during extended trips. The DC85-X, with its rugged design and efficient compressor, was our go-to fridge, while the DF30-HD provided additional storage and backup cooling.

Terrain Tamer Suspension Seats offered a noticeable upgrade in comfort. These seats, tested in the Simpson Desert, provided excellent support and reduced fatigue, making long drives more enjoyable.

MSA 4x4 touring gear kept our equipment organized and secure. The MSA Explorer Drawer System and Drop Slide allowed easy access to tools and supplies, while the seat organizers and barrier bags ensured everything had its place.

ICOM IC-410PRO UHF radio ensured reliable communication in remote areas. Its rugged design and MIL-SPEC construction maintained a strong signal, a crucial safety feature for off-road travel.

The Rola Titan MKIII roof rack added functionality and style. Its channel-style design allowed for quick accessory mounting and repositioning, making it ideal for carrying gear on long expeditions.

A Custom Lithium Ultra Slim 200Ah battery powered our appliances efficiently. Its compact size and high capacity made it perfect for extended tours, and the built-in Battery Management System ensured safety and reliability.

The Alu-Cab Gen 3-R Expedition rooftop tent provided a comfortable living space. Its hard-shell design and spacious interior made it a cozy retreat after a long day of exploring.

Finally, the HP-F Stage 1 power and drivability upgrade unleashed the V8's potential. With increased torque and power, the Cruiser tackled steep climbs and highway cruising with ease.

This 79 Series build is a testament to our passion for off-roading. It's a rare opportunity to own a fully certified, adventure-ready LandCruiser. But here's where it gets controversial: should you bid on this iconic vehicle, or is it better suited for a museum exhibit? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
